HBAR technical analysis: Asset nears yearly lows 

 

Between August 2023 and August 2024, the HBAR market experienced many fluctuations. Embedded with these movements, the Hedera price prediction for 2024 hinted at the potential for both growth and decline, contingent upon many factors.
 

The period started with HBAR testing $0.063. However, it was rejected, and by September, the asset dropped to its lowest yearly support of $0.045. Subsequent tests to challenge $0.050 failed, returning the price to the lowest support by October.

 

The market improved mid-month, reflecting a broader recovery in cryptocurrency prices during Q4 2023. After a brief test, this bull run elevated the price above $0.063 in early December. Nonetheless, the buying momentum weakened after facing rejection at $0.091 in the new year. Yet, the price didn’t stoop to previous lows.

 

The northbound journey resumed by early February, surpassing the critical $0.105 mark by mid-month. The rally led to HBAR reaching the highest chart resistance at $0.139 the following month. Yet, another rejection succeeded this. 

 

Subsequent attempts to hold over $0.105 succumbed to selling pressure, temporarily compromising $0.091 in early April. Both of these instances were indicative of corrective drops following overvaluation.
 

An interesting development in late April caused HBAR to pump over 107%. AMBCrypto reported that this surge was triggered by an announcement that Hedera had tokenized BlackRock’s ICS U.S. Treasury money market fund on the Hedera blockchain in collaboration with Archax. 

 

However, it was later clarified that BlackRock was not directly involved in the tokenization process. This caused the asset to shed some gains, pushing it slightly below $0.105. As the calendar turned to May, HBAR reclaimed this level.

 

The bears cut short this recovery, painting the market red by late May. Consecutive drops brought the asset to $0.063 by July. Mid-month recovery was unsustainable as it wasn’t backed by genuine investor interest but was the ripple effect of a broader market upside. 

 

Thus, by the end of July, bulls lost $0.063 and found support at $0.050 in August. At the time of writing, the trading price was $0.053. A break below the current support would prompt the asset to drop to its lowest floor. Additionally, a more pronounced bearish onslaught could pull it even lower to $0.042.
 

Conversely, if the bulls flip and keep the price above $0.105, there is substantial potential for gains. • The Awesome Oscillator (AO) crossed over the zero line in mid-November. By late June, the resurgence of bearish forces returned it to negative territory, ending the analysis at -0.0313. This marked the lowest analyzed value, highlighting the strengthening downtrend.
• The 20 and 50-week Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) primarily acted as resistance levels until late 2023. Moreover, the price breached the former in August and late October, and the 50 EMA was surpassed in December. 
• Subsequently, a golden cross formed in January. In April, a price drop caused the candlesticks to fall below the 20 EMA and even slightly below the 50 EMA.
